5 years old on the the 5th anniversary of the Syrian conflict

5 year old Shahd* and her sister Marah*, 13, came to Egypt from Syria with their family nearly three years ago. Both girls now attend Save the Children’s child friendly space where they have become talkative again and are always excited to visit the Center and play with their friends.

A celebration of children's rights in Egypt

Sharing Humanity on World Humanitarian Day

Hala* is a Syrian refugee from Aleppo who now lives in Obour, Greater Cairo. She works as a facilitator at a Child and Family Centre run by Save the Children with funding from UNHCR, providing recreational activities and emotional support for Egyptian and refugee children. Hala always had an instinct that her calling in life would be to do humanitarian work.
