The Opportunity

The Livelihoods Officer is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementing of Livelihoods interventions that implemented by Save the Children International (SCI) or the partner NGOs in line with SCI policies and Standards of Operations (SOPs). The livelihoods Officer is expected to play a leading role in supervising FORSA VIII livelihoods activities for refugee youth and adults in Greater Cairo. He/ She has significant responsibility building the capacities and providing technical support to SCI team and the partners NGOs to ensure the quality of livelihoods activities implementations. He/ She is accountable for monitoring the quality of field activities ensuring delivery of timely results, establishing good relationship with different stakeholders. The position will also ensure regular monitoring of implementation besides submitting timely reports to project manager to be including in the donor report

⦁    Bachelor’s degree in development related fields; having master’s degree is preferable.
⦁    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in development/humanitarian aid; previous experience in livelihood or economic empowerment programming is a must.
⦁    Previous experience working with NGO and engaged in their capacity building. 
⦁    Previous management experience is required; 
⦁    Highly developed interpersonal, communication skills, writing and organizational skills;
⦁    Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required;
⦁    Experience with refugee/marginalized communities;
⦁    Familiar with the refugee context in Egypt and associated political/cultural sensitivities Previous experience in livelihoods projects for youth
